Speaking of leftover medicine, does anyone actually throw away unused prescription drugs when they quit taking them, or do you hang on to them for future use? read more »

pain in the eye
Yesterday, my left eye was bothering me most of the evening. It felt like there may be a rogue eyelash hiding in there somewhere, but I never managed to find it. This morning, I awoke and found the troubled eye to be full of "gooey" stuff...obvious signs of an infection. Conjunctivitis is the word that the doctors use. Luckily for me, we still have some eye-drops from the last bout of conjunctivitis that raged through our family. Hopefully the kids don't pick it up and take it to school with them. I'd hate to be the source of massive school-wide gooey eyes. read more »

I try to dress in actual clothing each day rather than working in my pajamas, even if I'm not going anywhere. But lately things have been getting a little difficult to manage. read more »
reasons to believe
Seeing as our kids are growing up faster than we did, I'm guessing that it is only a matter of years before my daughter decides not to believe in Santa Claus anymore. Of course, we'll do our best to help her "keep the faith" but there's only so much a parent can do. I still like my wife's suggestion, to say that kids who think their parents are Santa just aren't on his list anymore, and their parents didn't want to disappoint them - classic! read more »
forget low flush, how about no flush?
Yesterday I met with a new retail business client and had an embarrassing experience. Halfway through our meeting, I started to experience some sharp stomach cramps. As a mildly lactose intolerant individual, I know this feeling well. I had avoided milk products that morning, but sometimes being nervous can trigger stomach irritation. As soon as I had the chance, I excused myself from the conversation and asked to be directed to her public restroom. Upon entering, I was about to start laying paper on the seat when I noticed a small note taped to the wall above the toilet paper dispenser. read more »
