garbage disposal stopped working?

Just wanted to share a tip regarding your kitchen sink garbage disposal. If you find that it suddenly stops working, and you've reset the GFCI receptacle and flipped the breaker, and it still isn't working, look directly beneath the disposal unit for a small button. If it is popped out, push it back in. Maybe you'll get lucky like me and that will fix it. Hopefully this saves somebody a little time and frustration. Perhaps everybody knows about this little "reset" button, but I never had to use it before in any of the dozen places I have lived that had a disposal unit under the kitchen sink. So I figured it was worth sharing.

Update! If hitting the little "reset" button still doesn't fix it, it may be jammed. To un-jam it, look for a small opening on the bottom of the disposal - usually right in the center. Insert an appropriately sized allen wrench into the hole and twist from side to side. This will loosen the mechanism back up. Press the reset button and run the disposal (with water) for a minute or so. Hope this helps!!
