If you're anything like me, you totally freak out whenever someone inadvertently hits your eyeglasses. As a father of young children, this is a fairly common problem, and you would think that I wouldn't let it concern me so much. And I probably wouldn't if I wasn't so darn blind without them. Plus, I happened to pick up my glasses prior to the great internet eyeware revolution. Yep, that's right. I paid well over $100 for my glasses. Tonight, we decided to break out the deep fryer and have an artery-clogging contest. On the menu was fried okra, fried tater skins, and fried chicken. The potato skins were left over from a soup that I had made a few nights ago. I almost threw the skins away, but remembered those "tater skins" potato chip snacks that they used to make. I figured that it was worth a try, and I was right. They turned out pretty tasty with some Cajun seasoning.  read more »
