chipped cheek choosyboy

Yesterday choosymom took our son to the doctor's office to check on an injury that occurred about a month ago while in school. He was climbing up the slide during recess, lost his footing, and slammed his face into the steps. His cheek was red when we picked him up, but he didn't seem to be phased. He developed a slight back eye over the next few days, but seemed in good spirits and it didn't swell much. Unfortunately, we've noticed that there is a small bump under the skin that isn't going away.  read more »

fat slobs with great teeth

Choosygirl came home from school yesterday with a notice indicating that a "mobile dentist" will be visiting the school next week. The dentist will be there to screen for cavities and seal molars. They even have a portable x-ray machine. On paper, this sounds like a great idea. I'm sure that a number of parents will fill out the form and have their children see the dentist. jobs that come with unhealthy eating habits

I was working with contractors all day. Some were removing the tree from our roof. Others were tearing down drywall and assessing water damage in the ceiling. a cure for athlete's foot?

A few times a year, I find that the soles of my feet start to peel. I always assumed it was athlete's foot, and I usually picked up an over-the-counter remedy to try and deal with it. I never bothered to ask a doctor to look into it. My wife says that she doesn't think I have athlete's foot though, because she says that it normally stinks, and my feet don't smell bad. So, perhaps it is a minor case of psoriasis or some sort of fungal infection. Fun! Just the subject you were hoping to read about today, right?  read more »

we're having grease for dinner

Tonight, we decided to break out the deep fryer and have an artery-clogging contest. On the menu was fried okra, fried tater skins, and fried chicken. The potato skins were left over from a soup that I had made a few nights ago. I almost threw the skins away, but remembered those "tater skins" potato chip snacks that they used to make. I figured that it was worth a try, and I was right. They turned out pretty tasty with some Cajun seasoning.  read more »
