Yesterday, my left eye was bothering me most of the evening. It felt like there may be a rogue eyelash hiding in there somewhere, but I never managed to find it. This morning, I awoke and found the troubled eye to be full of "gooey" stuff...obvious signs of an infection. Conjunctivitis is the word that the doctors use. Luckily for me, we still have some eye-drops from the last bout of conjunctivitis that raged through our family. Hopefully the kids don't pick it up and take it to school with them. I'd hate to be the source of massive school-wide gooey eyes. read more »

Today, I woke up with a bad headache between the eyes. I'm hesitant to call it an actual migraine headache, but it was so bad that I was feeling nauseous. It was particularly inconvenient, since I was planning on getting our kitchen up and running today. I ended up sleeping about half of the day away, waiting for the headache to go away. At about 11am, I rose from my ill slumber and spent a few minutes checking email. The brightness of the laptop display hurt. The headache was still there, no thanks to the Tylenol I had taken. read more »
sinus bomb + no sleep = long recovery
I'm going on two weeks of being sick now. My mother is convinced that I need to go see a doctor, but I sense that I just need more sleep. It's a true catch 22, actually. Feeling like crap (and it is especially worse at night) means that I don't get much sleep, but I need *extra* sleep to get over this cold, right? read more »

After reading so many other blog posts about families getting sick for the holidays, I had to go and jump on the bandwagon for Christmas Day.
